Onward and Upward - Party Recap Part I

This past Thursday we hosted our launch event. Whew! What a great night of new fashion and exciting beginnings. A big thank you to all you party people who made the Ana Louie launch a success.

My day started at 10:00 a.m. with outlining speech points, printing comment cards and gathering boxes and decor and last minute essentials...like teacups. Teacups! (We created three "sets" and each had a unique theme. Teacups just had to be set out on the tables for our beautiful models to sip from)

I arrived at the venue and our fabulous intern-extraordinaire Jessica was busily arranging tables and putting out press kits. The hours flew by as we set out lookbooks and give-aways; staged a Winter Wonderland scene, a Parisian cafe scene (teacups. check.) and a New Year's Eve party scene; placed colorful flowers out to highlight our Spring preview area.... and on and on. It was a flurry of activity and the energy level was high and rising.

By 4:00 pm our beautiful models arrived: Britana, Maya, Violet, Ana and Gia - and Alana, our adult model who wore our women's dress. Without question, a gorgeous, smart and poised gathering of ladies. Hair and make-up began with Nate and Tiffany and the DJ and caterers kicked set-up into high gear. By 5:45...we were ready!

Our guests began arriving at 6. Photogs clicked away, ambient house music played...and fashion insiders, buyers and friends and family took in the fashion show...

(More recap to be continued with pictures from the event to follow shortly...)

Exciting Launch Event Planning

Hi Everyone!
Liz here to announce some exciting news! Planning is underway for the official launch party for Ana Louie's new line! The team has been putting together some cool ideas for the event. These ideas will bring out the best in what Ana Louie is all about and has to offer.

The launch party theme will a 1940's Paris in the Spring! This should really highlight the intrinsic designs and vibrant colors that people can expect from Ana Louie. We want the event to be elegant yet fun.

Although we are in the middle of planning we wanted to make sure that "friends" of AL know what we're up to and can get excited about this event. We've selected a fabulous open space to have the event. The party is set to take place in mid June so make sure you are available to join us.

More details to come soon...

Ana Louie Going On An Expedition to Moldova

Hey everyone, Masha is here. I'm overwhelmed with anticipation and preparation to my trip back to motherland where beautiful pieces for Ana Louie Holiday 2011 and Spring 2012 are being sewn with care and love.
Ana Louie clothing is made out of the most amazing materials with great attention to details and construction. There is no over way but to travel overseas and work with production team together on each little button, lace and stitch.
I will be back in 2 weeks with a lot of amazing goodies to work with and stories to share!
Let's hope rain will be gone by then too!
I will miss beautiful Seattle.

Cheers,

Holiday '11: Our First Photoshoot

This past Sunday we had our very first photoshoot for the launch of our Holiday '11 collection. Our debut line is here! It was an afternoon packed with energy, beauty and just a bit of chaos. We had great models (the beauties Gia and Violet and Ana), amazing hair styling (Nate!), subtle and enhancing makeup (Tiffany Nash, simply gorgeous) and our great photog and her tireless assistant (Inti and Jeff, awesome job).

My role was part logistical, part creative. I helped everyone get to where they needed to be and kept an eye on the clock during the shoot. I also worked with styling of the girls (hair up? curls or a braid?) and the sets (flowers vs. throw rug?). And, as with any shoot, there was tons of schlepping, pushing, lifting and sliding of furniture and equipment. It was super fun, hard work, a little nerve wracking...and a job well done by the whole team.

Inspired by the mood and the fashion of Paris in the 1950's, our team wanted to capture the sophistication, style, beauty and rich design aesthetic of that era that our collection echos. We shot on location in a 100+ year old Pioneer Square loft, complete with floor to ceiling windows. The natural light was radiant. Weathered and distressed interior brick walls and the well-worn wood floors gave the rich look of a bygone era. A bronze bistro table and chairs, fresh flowers from the market, sterling silver candleholders and a supple tufted-leather ottoman served as props in the shots.

With just over 24 hours since the shoot wrapped, we're waiting to see the final shots. But we know they're good. There's no way with clothes these beautiful, and girls this cute, and an energy this alive the shots won't be GOOD.

So, while we wait, here are few snaps from the set. More to come soon!

What a wonderful day. Thank you to all.
